According to ancient Chinese medical theory, the causes of disease are of two kinds: imbalance in the psychomental state, and external, response to changing atmospheric and climatic conditions. This six volume set of music was developed in Mainland China, based on these principles of health preservation. Volumes one through four are designed to counter external causes of illness, by strengthening the bodies natural defenses against the particular conditions of each of the four seasons, while volumes five and six are designed to counter internal causes of illness, by regulating psychomental activity, and thus bringing the body and mind into a state of equilibrium and harmony.
